First Mother Bear Knitting Day

It was great today. We had 6 people come and do some knitting. Crystelle and her husband came and Crystelle talked ot us about time she spent in Africa working on various Doctor's without Borders projects. The first place she worked was a project where they were feeding severely malnurished kids. They had to feed them 8 times a day because their stomachs could only handle a small amount of food and lots of kids were dead when they arrived or died in the first few days. She said around the town they were in stretched refugee camps as far as the horizon. People waited until they were completely desperate before they would hitch ride on these trucks to come to the centre.

And then I served the cream puffs. So incongruous. But I was happy with the turnout.
